There are many R&B artists out there. There is an abundance of people who dream and hope for the opportunity to be heard. There are lots of artists who are being heard in this day and age, but we all know that only a few walk the walk. Ronnie started singing when she was very little and has gone on to turn a once sweet voice into nothing short of amazing. Surprisingly, she never had any support for a musical career growing up. Nevertheless, she has evolved into not only a sensational vocalist but a songwriter and producer as well. She grew up listening to Pop, R&B, Country, Soul, Rap and now, her time has come. Her music she describes as a fusion of R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and Soul. "I was born a singer, I eventually started to write and production came much later. I did some networking, met with lots of people and finally got tired of waiting for "producers" who wanted to do music but weren't too pressed to pursue it. I took things into my own hands and went for it". By going for it she means: recording, writing and producing every song on this debut album. There is a huge void available to be filled with unique, never before heard music and sure enough, Ronnie promises one thing for certain, that she incorporates all the influences she had growing up to come up with a CD that is uniquely spiced and all her own. All we need is some good music, that’s it", she says. Sounds very simple, yet inexplicably unfulfilled by majority of what’s out there today. She cites her influences as: Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston. When asked what she hopes listeners will get, she answers: "The power of great songs." She desribes this project as passionate. Aggresive, yet inspirational, sassy and laced with a tinge of humor and wit. When she isn't keeping you on your toes, she's captivating you with that soothing yet powerful voice. This is one project to look out for. Her plans: Simple, to take the world with her on her journey. "We're going to have fun" she says, lots of fun. Ronnie is currently hard at work on her debut album, scheduled for a spring release. |
